For
the next 10 to 15 years, it clearly lacked the military might to
overwhelm it’s neighbours without enormous cost to itself. Either in
terms of capability or intentions, China’s is unlikely to de-stablise
the region and posed a threat in the region.
The
participation in the world’s liberal trading order has transformed
China to what is it today. The Chinese leader have recognised that it
would be in China’s advantage to maintain this status quo for it’s
benefit. On the other hand, the world would have to come to terms with
an emerging China and continue to engage and integrate China into the
World order. A dis-integrated China will pose a even bigger problem to
the World as it’s potential to disrupt and de-stablised the
international security,
world economy, global environment and human warfare are
substantial. The more the Chinese are dependent and integrated to the
World order, the less likely the Chinese threat will be. |
