With balanced diet consisting of veggies and live food coupled with  good water condition, blue hues can sometimes develop on the body and fins, making the fish even more beautiful.

Thrive best with a large tank in excess of 4 feet (preferably in a pair). The fish is extremely inquisitive and will generally pick on any objects in the tank and filter tubes and air hose can be easily dislodged.

Juvenile Argentea

Vieja Argentea, one of my favorite Central America cichlids.  It grew from about 1 inch in size to 10 inches in 4 years. It is extremely aggressive.

Likes :  Active and  graceful.

Dislikes :  Aggressive.
