Description:

These fishes inhabit open water or in region where there are sandy areas. They are generally micro predators. However, fish under aquarium condition can quickly accept pellet foods, freeze dried shrimps, blood worms etc.

Due to their aggressiveness and size, a large aquarium (in excess of 100 Gal) is best to keep a few species. Males of similar colour will often battle to death.

Blue Peacock.  One of the most aggressive peacocks that can survive the harassment of the zebras and haplochromis. It is shinny blue with long fins. A beautiful fish. It has many a times hold its turf against the Venustus and even the Green Terror.

Likes       :  Beautiful and independent.

Dislikes    :   None.

OB Peacock.      They are also generally known as Marble Peacock or Orange Black (OB) Peacock. The male was quite aggressive and fierecely defend his little area at the corner of the tank. One of the graceful fish that I enjoyed.

Likes         :    Beautiful graceful fish.

Dislikes    :     Quite motionless at times, not very active.
