The
aim of describing my tank set-up is to share information with fellow
aquarists. It may not be the best set-ups and constructive comments are
welcome. E-mail your comments to
me.
The
first tank was a 4ft tank with Malawi Cichlids as the first occupants.
Through the months, I tried to make it into a
"community"
cichlid tank, adding any cichlids that I fancy, mixing cichlids from
Africa, Central America and Central America. This obviously did not
turned out well and subsequently I added another 4 ft and 2 ft tank to
separate them.

Presently,
I have 3 tanks, each housing cichlids that required the similar water
parameters.
Central
America Set-up (2 ft by 18 inch by 18 inch). I used the set-up
for a pair of Nicaragua Cichlids (Hypsophys nicaraguensis) and to grow
out a Argentea. This is
filtered by a Eheim 2260 (950 litres/hr).
2
x Lake
Tanganyika (African Cichlid) Set-up housing Tropheus (4 ft by 18
inch by 18 inch). These are filtered by a Eheim 2280 (1050 litres/hr)
and a Eheim 2217 (1000 litres/hr).
